An Amazing Story From Sweden

"The Button" by Elina Sahlin is an official selection of the Austin Micro Short Film Festival 2018. Elina Sahlin is a Swedish writer based in Stockholm. Starting off as a columnist her passion for words and stories soon led her in to film making. Repetitive patterns, dissonance along with a naive/absurd twist is common in her work. Whether it is screenwriting, directing or fiction writing. Elina is a farmer’s daughter from the northern hinterlands. Her gallery of characters often portraits people in remote villages, seldom without a pinch of humor.

Synopsis: The Button By Elina Sahlin

The button’s story revolves around two girls discovering their bodies, further finding their empowerment in the most ordinary of situations. First and foremost this is a story about escapism; how self knowledge can be used as a resort to avoid the strange feeling of dissonance and conflict with reality.
